Cycling: This morning, the German Cyclists' Association announced most of their squads for the Road World Championships in Doha, Qatar, which are due to take place in mid-October. The only class that has to wait further are the men (elite). On Wednesday, however, Greipel, Kittel, Degenkolb and Co. should finally know who will go hunting for World Cup gold on October 16th.
The wait goes on! Even though the BDR announced four of its five squads for the Road World Championships in Doha this morning, the most discussed question remains unanswered. While the U23 riders, the juniors and the women already know who will start in Qatar, Greipel and Co. will have to be patient. Last week, an interview by André Greipel with Belgium's Het Nieuwsblad caused a stir, in which he sharply criticized BDR for the impasse over the nomination. It is all the more astonishing that the German association is taking two more days to make a decision in this regard.

Both the men's and women's U23s have very good chances of a medal: Lennard Kämna, the reigning European champion in the time trial, is sent onto the asphalt and Pascal Ackermann and Phil Bauhaus should also have very good chances of a podium finish on the flat street circuit. Lisa Brennauer will certainly want to at least defend her silver medal from 2014 in the women's race - if not even more.
