Market: The new BH Lynx Race celebrated its premiere at the Eurobike Media Days in Kirchberg – the Basque manufacturer had recently announced the new MTB. We were able to kidnap one of the coveted models and take a closer look at it. Developed in cooperation with the professional team BH Suntour KMC, the Lynx Race will be available from the beginning of next year.
With the BH Lynx Race, the Basque manufacturer BH Bikes is expanding its cross-country bike portfolio with a powerful fully. So far, the BH Ultimate was just a hardtail in the program (here to test), together with the professional team BH Suntour KMC, however, they have also been working on a fully in the past few months, which is now seeing the light of day in the form of the BH Lynx Race.
From next year there will be the BH Lynx Race with a carbon and aluminum frame, in Kirchberg there was initially only the version with the neon-red aluminum frame to be admired. What all variants have in common is the 100mm spring travel at the rear and front and a relaxed, balanced geometry that we already know from the Ultimate Hardtail. With a rather slack steering angle of 68.5° and a relatively long reach (442mm in L), the Lynx Race comes with extremely modern frame dimensions and a broad horizon. Actually as a marathon bike for the professional team around Adelheid Morath (to the blog) developed, it could also pass as a short-travel trail bike with these geometry data.
At first glance, however, it is the paintwork that catches the eye - in the truest sense of the word. The bright, neon-colored red literally glows and gives the new Lynx a very eye-catching look. The design language of the bike is reminiscent of the Lynx counterparts Lynx 4.8 and Lynx 6 - not too surprising, after all, all fullies in the BH portfolio share the split pivot rear end designed by suspension guru Dave Weagle.

The test model in Kirchberg corresponded to the Lynx Race Alu Fox model, which comes on the market with an 11-speed XT group from Shimano, FOX suspension with a new SC Fit4 fork and wheels from BH for €2.999 and is the most expensive and best-equipped model with an aluminum frame will be. In the case of the carbon models, the top variant of the four available configurations comes with an RS-1 fork from Rock Shox and XTR Di2 drive - the noble racer, however, tears a big hole in your wallet for €8.999.
