Anyone: As previously reported, we are going together with our partner Ertl/Renz this year at the TOUR Transalp with two of our own teams. Ertl/Renz-Velomotion 1 originally consisted of last year's two runners-up, Frederic Glorieux and Bob Michels. However, after Glorieux had to pull out with a fracture of the sacrum, Bob Michels has now also been hit badly.
It's bewitched. The two Belgians Bob Michels and Frederic Glorieux missed the overall victory at the TOUR Transalp by a hair's breadth by seven seconds. After the first frustration and disappointment had subsided, however, it was clear that victory had to come in 2016. From now on, this is the fixed point of the season for the two, the training is designed for this one crucial week at the end of June. With Ertl/Renz-Velomotion there is also a partner who can help to make this dream come true.
Everything is going according to plan, but a few weeks before the start, the first major setback: Frederic Glorieux falls in a race for everyone and breaks his navicular bone: The TOUR Transalp will take place without him. However, a replacement is quickly found: With the only 23-year-old Michiel Minneart, Michels gets a real climbing ace at his side and if Glorieux had to bury his dreams of revenge, it should at least work out for Michels with the Transalp triumph. But that didn't work out either - at the Gran Fondo Les Trois Ballons, Michels collided with a support motorcycle, fell heavily and broke his elbow and jaw. In the meantime, he has been able to leave the hospital and survived the surgery well, but the victory he aspired to at the TOUR Transalp 2016 will not work for him either.

But as the saying goes - the show must go on! That's why we warmly welcome Jurgen Moreels to the Ertl/Renz-Velomotion 1 team. Bob Michels' compatriot has already clocked up almost 10.000 training/racing kilometers this year and is now forming a new Belgian duo with Michiel Minneart. So things often turn out differently than you think – we keep our fingers crossed for Michiel and Jurgen and wish Bob and Frederic a speedy recovery and a speedy recovery.
