Everyone / cycling: Our Ertl/Renz-Velomotion 1 team is working its way up the overall rankings day by day at this year's TOUR Transalp. After the Belgian duo lost a lot of time on the first day, they came third yesterday and even won the men's classification today. Lennrad and Holger in the Ertl/Renz-Velomotion 2 team are still holding up well.
Big cheers today in the camp of Ertl/Renz-Velomotion 1. The two Belgians Michiel Minnaert and Jurgen Moreels were not only able to claim their first victory in the men's classification and second place overall from St. Vigil to Sillian, but also valuable ground in the make up the rating. Even though the day's victory went narrowly to Massimo Debertolis and Johann Pallhuber from the Masters - Team Ail Trentino, Michiel and Jurgen were in a good mood: “It was really tough today with the passes and the high pace right from the start. We saw that some were struggling and tried to make up time. It was a perfect day for us. Hopefully we can do that again.”
The duo now sit fifth in the overall standings, just under seven minutes behind the leaders and four more stages to close the gap. If they can perform as well as today, the yellow jersey is still within reach.
Lennard Heidenreich and Holger Sievers in the Ertl/Renz-Velomotion 2 team are still doing well - Lennard in particular had a really strong day again today. 51st place did not cause any storms of jubilation at the finish, but the two of them are primarily interested in having fun and, for Lennard, in valuable experience and competition practice. In the not too distant future, the MTB ace will compete at the Bike Transalp and says: "The TOUR Transalp is the perfect preparation!" The two also enjoy the service from Prostyle – including the massages in the evening after the stages. "The massages are slowly taking effect, I feel great." Lennard informed us tonight. That's also important - after all, there are still four really tough days ahead.
