Spectrum: GT Bicycles Announces New Gravity Racing Team

9 December 2015 by Andrew Waldera

GT Gravity Team

Spectrum: The American cult manufacturer GT Bicycles is starting the 2016 season with a completely new Gravity Racing Team. After four years of successful cooperation with Atherton Racing, the premium brand of Dorel Industries has now announced the formation of the new, top-class team.

Four riders will compete for GT Bicycles in the Downhill division:

Brook

Brook "Bulldog" MacDonald (New Zealand)

In his young career, the 23-year-old New Zealander can already look back on 18 top 10 successes. The highlight of the 2015 season was definitely the podium finish in Val di Sole.

Sam

Sam Dale (UK)

Sam Dale is an integral part of the UCI World Cup. The experienced Brit can now boast 19 top 25 finishes. Last season, Sam Dale even finished on the podium in Lourdes.

Wine

Wyn Masters (New Zealand)

Fan favourite: Riders and performers alike! Successful both in New Zealand and in the World Cup, GT Bicycles has secured a popular figure in Wyn Masters, who is always good for a surprise.

Jackson

Jackson Frew (Australia)

17-year-old Jackson Frew is the junior driver in the team – and naturally starts the 2016 season with high expectations.

The Enduro Team consists of two male and two female riders:

Martin

Martin Maes (Belgium)

Is there anything or any tracks that Martin Maes doesn't master? The young Belgian, previously racing for Atherton Racing, is rightly considered one of the top favorites in the 2016 Enduro World Series.

Anneke

Anneke Beerten (Netherlands)

To describe all the successes of this exceptional driver would go beyond the scope of any report. The reigning queen of crankworx has stood on the podium 16 times in the Enduro World Series alone. And we are sure: there is still a lot more to come – despite her 33 years of age!

Wine

Wyn Masters (New Zealand)

The New Zealander not only competes in downhill, but also in enduro races. At the Crankworx Enduro, Wyn Masters finished third, proving that a double load can be beneficial.

Rachel

Rachel Throop (USA)

After successful appearances in US enduro races, 26-year-old Rachel Throop is now venturing into the international racing arena.
