Abus Stadthelm: Abus and Stadthelm already presented the new honorary ambassador of the initiative Bettina Wulff at this year's Eurobike. As the mother of two active boys, it is very important for the former First Lady to advertise that wearing a bicycle helmet is by no means uncool - it is rather negligent to send children and young people onto the road without suitable head protection.
Now Bettina Wulff cycled last Sunday at World Children's Day accompanied by numerous children at the ABUS charity bike tour in favor of the Stadthelm project by Berlin. She was very happy about the huge response to the tour: "The Stadthelm project is a matter close to my heart. To cycle through the zoo on World Children's Day together with children, young people and people who support the topic of wearing helmets voluntarily sets a positive sign. I would like to promote the Stadthelm project and I hope that we will generate broad support for the topic.”
The "Stadthelm" project was brought to life by Abus, one of the largest helmet manufacturers in Germany, and the Bundesverband Kinderneuologie-Hilfe eV - who can describe the dramatic consequences of an accident without a helmet better than anyone else.
We at Velomotion were able to get to know Bettina Wulff at the Eurobike and were present at the joint appointment with the child neurology aid and Abus. It was very pleasant to experience that Ms. Wulff genuinely cares about it and that she is happy to have the opportunity to convince children and adults that carrying things home on a bicycle is a good and sensible thing to do. Christian Rothe, a member of the Abus management board, is also convinced: "As a role model and with her sympathetic approach to children and affected families, Bettina Wulff is the ideal ambassador for the Stadthelm", and is also pleased about the overwhelming number of participants in Berlin: " Children represent our future and Universal Children's Day puts them in the center of attention for one day.”
Velomotion would also like to support the Stadthelm initiative with the means available to us and are of the opinion "... there is a clever head under every helmet".
If you are wondering what the city helmet is, you will find the answer and lots of information about the project and which cities are involved at www.stadthelm.de
