Product news: The German manufacturer Abus and the insurance company Allianz both stand for protection and security. With the aim of enabling cyclists to have a safe riding experience and supporting specialist retailers, Allianz helmet protection is now available free of charge for one year when you purchase selected Abus bicycle helmets. We explain what Abus & Allianz helmet insurance is all about.
Even if this point is often left behind, bicycle helmets are primarily for protection in the event of falls and accidents, in addition to "fashionable style". Of course, you hope that you will never have to resort to these protective functions yourself, but you are still happy when this valuable protection is available. Manufacturers like Abus invest in research and development every year so that this function can be constantly improved. Luckily, most accidents and falls with bikes are not so bad, but the helmet is still worn out and has to be replaced. So that you don't have to worry about a broken helmet after such an incident, Abus has now put together a package together with Allianz. This gives you a full year of Allianz helmet protection insurance for free when you buy the Abus AirBreaker, GameChanger, StormChaser and PowerDome models.
What is Allianz Helmet Protection?
Allianz helmet protection is a product from Allianz Versicherungs-AG to protect Abus helmets against external damage. After the insurance has been activated, Allianz Helmet Protection offers a full and free replacement for insured damage to the helmet for the first 12 months. Many possible causes are insured, such as damage caused by falls, accidents or the effects of animals or natural forces. The Allianz helmet protection is offered in all German sales channels by ABUS.
To activate the Abus & Allianz helmet insurance, there is a tag on the helmet models that states the website and an individual activation code. The latter is entered by the customer on the Allianz website and the Allianz helmet protection is active for 12 months free of charge. In the event of a claim, Allianz, as the customer's insurer, takes on the entire process. After the free 12 months have expired, the insurance ends automatically. The customer does not have to cancel himself, but can opt for and take out longer insurance cover.
