Spectrum: Stoneman-Miriquidi MTB route: one year anniversary

April 30, 2015 by the editorial office

stoneman1

Spectrum: The Stoneman – Miriquidi MTB route in the Ore Mountains opened last year. Now the track, which is now well-known beyond the borders of Germany, is starting its second season. The route, which connects the nine highest peaks of the Ore Mountains, remains untouched, but otherwise there are some innovations.

2 countries, 9 peaks, 4.400 meters in altitude, 162km - these are the key data of the Stoneman - Miriquidi route. Anyone who wants to can drive it, but it only gets really fun when you officially register as a starter. Then you get a starter card that you can punch at each of the peaks. Anyone who conquers the entire route in 24 hours will receive a gold trophy after presenting their fully punched starter card. After 48 hours there is silver, after 72 hours bronze - that was the case last season. The so-called "Open Tour" is new this year. Here the participants can take up to six days to conquer the demanding route and then receive a "real Ore Mountain" wooden medal. In any case, everyone who conquers the route is mentioned on the Stoneman's homepage - no matter how long it takes them to climb the almost 4.500 meters.
