Cycling: 26-year-old Elizabeth "Lizzie" Armitstead from England has won the seventh edition of the Ladies Tour of Qatar. Second overall was Chloe Hosking from Australia ahead of Ellen van Dijk from the Netherlands.

Boels Dolmans Cycle had two reasons to celebrate: both Lizzie Armitstead and Ellen van Dijk are starting for the Dutch women's cycling team. With second place overall, Team Wiggle Honda's Chloe Hosking lived up to her role as co-favorite of the 4-stage race. After a total of 389,5 kilometers, the best German driver in the overall classification was Trixi Worrack, who started for the Velocio-SRAM team.
