Cycling: The highest amateur race in the world will take place in Colombia on April 26th: The GFNY Colombia starts in the Colombian capital Bogotá at an altitude of 2.640m and leads the participants over the course of the event to over 3.000m on the Alto de la Chuchilla.
GFNY Colombia is part of the Campagnolo Gran Fondo New York World Series, which will also take place in Italy (our report on last year's event), Mexico and Puerto Rico, among others. GFNY Colombia participants have a choice of two routes:
Short distance: 100km, 2.000m elevation gain
Long distance: 170km, 3.000m elevation gain
The official route has yet to be announced, but it should be clear that the field of participants will expect a challenging route through breathtaking landscapes.
