Market: As Shimano recently announced, it will soon be possible to use the ST-9070 Dura-Ace shift/brake levers as remote controls for Ant+ compatible devices. This requires a new software update on the one hand and the SW-EWW01 D-Fly wireless unit on the other. Some manufacturers have already announced that they will work with Shimano.
The Dura-Ace ST-2012 grips, which have been available since 9070, have a button hidden under the rubber grip that could previously only be used to operate the Shimano Flight Deck. In the future, Shimano will therefore open the doors for other manufacturers: Communication runs via Garmin's Ant+ standard - however, the devices mentioned must be expressly compatible with the Dura-Ace grips. Garmin, PRO and Magellan have already announced that they will adapt their Ant+ compatible bike computers accordingly. However, many other areas of application are conceivable in the future. For example, the recording of Shimano's new CM-1000 camera could be controlled - or to spin the thread a little further: There are also smartphones that can handle Ant+. The possibilities would be almost unlimited. We are excited to see what the future will bring.
