Cycling: In the coming year, an Enduro European Championship will be held for the first time. Together with the Trailsolutions team, which takes over the organization, the fastest enduro rider in Europe will be chosen in Kirchberg, Austria.
Enduro sport continues to make quantum leaps. After the second big Enduro World Series season, the Trailsolutions team around Georgy Grogger announced that the first Enduro European Championship will be held next year. On the weekend of June 20th to 21st, 2015, in Kirchberg, people will be looking for the fastest enduro pilot in Europe. Kirchberg is not an unknown host. A run of the Specialized Sram Enduro Series has already taken place here three times and has shown great organizational talent.
Ever since the UCI published an official Enduro set of rules, the European Championship has been under discussion, according to Grogger in an interview. The upcoming award of the title represents a milestone in the discipline and paves the way for the future of the sport. It remains to be seen who will be able to call themselves European champions in the end. What is certain, however, is that this is the next big step for the enduro community to continue growing.
