Product news: Canyon: The MTB highlights for 2015

Market: "We want to build the best bike" - the Koblenz-based bike manufacturer Canyon is starting the new season with these high standards and very interesting MTB innovations. In addition to the all-mountain bike Spectral, the Enduro Strive with the Shapeshifter system is causing quite a stir.

Canyon Spectral AL / Spectral CF

The Spectral forms the link between Canyon's Nerve touring bike and the Strive enduro bike. The bike is available in both an aluminum version (Spectral AL) and a high-end carbon version (Spectral CF). According to the manufacturer, the innovative carbon frame weighs just 1950 grams. While the Spectral CF rolls exclusively on 27.5-inch wheels, buyers of the Spectral AL can choose between 27.5-inch and 29-inch wheels. The suspension travel of 140 millimeters on the 27.5-inch bike and 130 millimeters on the 29-inch model is designed to ensure flowing trails and efficient power transfer. To increase smoothness and stability, Canyon has opted for a longer stack and reach starting with the 2015 model year. This results in a longer and higher front center with less rollover feeling. The aluminum version of the Spectral is available from 1999 Euro (29″ from 2099 Euro) and in the carbon version from 3699 Euro.

Canyon Strive AL / Strive CF

The Enduro's standout feature is undoubtedly the Shapeshifter system. This system allows the rider to adjust the suspension to the varying demands of the trail while riding. Using a remote control on the handlebars, the rider can change the damper linkage and thus choose between two fundamentally different geometries, characteristics, and suspension travel. In plain language, this means that both the head angle and the seat angle can be adjusted by 1,5°. Likewise, the bottom bracket height changes by a full 19 mm. Depending on the trail and the selected setting, the rider has access to a comfortable 160 mm of travel for downhills or a climbing-friendly 130 mm for XC/uphills. This innovative Enduro is available in several aluminum and carbon versions, with prices ranging from €2499 (Strive AL 6.0) to €4.999 Euro (Strive CF 9.0 SL).Canyon STRIVE AL 7.0 Race - jet gray
