Test: When you first look at the Pro Team Floorpump, the really successful design is particularly striking - it's still a floor pump, so there are narrow limits to the aesthetic appearance, but still: the pump really makes an impression. Plain black with a few blue accents, lots of aluminium, hardly any plastic and rubberized surfaces in the right places.
The consistently good impression continues with the handle. This feels exceptionally good in the hand, is not too thick, not too thin and the rubber inserts are exactly where you want them to be. Inside there is even a clever extra: The blue end pieces can be pulled out and adapters for Dunlop valves and balls are hidden inside. We are excited.
The foot also impresses with its simple elegance. Flatter than most of the competition, with large rubber inserts on the base and a comfortably large pressure gauge in the middle. With the latter, only the contrast between the dial and the lettering could be greater - but that's really whining at a high level. Due to the rather small base, the pump wobbles minimally when pumping. Not so much that it's annoying, but enough that it's noticeable compared to the otherwise very good performance.
The Pro Team also convinces when it comes to pumping. Regardless of whether high volume or high pressure is required - the operating forces always remain low and the number of strokes in the low range, even if the piston does not run quite as smoothly as with the high-priced competition. The pump head is also successful. It is simple and, like the rest of the pump, very well made. When it comes to operation, Pro goes its own way: the head is not clamped using a lever as is the case with most other pumps, but is screwed onto the valve. This may take a few seconds longer, but it always guarantees a secure fit and works without any problems.
