Cycling: The finale in finale, a play on words that certainly brought a smile to many people's lips last weekend. The Enduro World Series concluded an eventful second season yesterday and offered an exciting showdown at the end. Here is the entire race in pictures.

# Starting point of the race, the marketplace with the pompous archway in Finale Ligure

ews_fotostory4-1012

# Jared Graves went into the last race as the leader and had to finish at least 22nd to secure the title of Enduro World Champion. However, the Australian did not drive with the handbrake on.

# A bit behind here, but by the end of day one, Yoann Barelli was leading the field. However, day two didn't really go well for him with 19th and 11th place.

ews_fotostory3-8388

# Same stage, same spot – Francois Bailly-Maitre had some difficulties keeping up speed here, which only brought him 29th place on stage one.

ews_fotostory3-8528

# Some come, others go - almost 500 starters started in Finale, so that many started two hours after the first drivers.

ews_fotostory3-8444

# Nico Lau roosts through one of the many switchbacks on stage two and takes ninth place.

ews_fotostory3-8539

# Tracy Moseley played it safe and tried to avoid defects

ews_fotostory3-8863

# Martin Maes certainly wished for a better result. With rank 57 on Stage 5, he only placed 13th in the end

ews_fotostory3-9398

# The slope of the men's downhill was lined with spectators

ews_fotostory3-9015

# Graves drove less conservatively than expected and let it rip on the difficult stage four

ews_fotostory3-9330

# Jerome Clementz made his comeback in Finale and finished an impressive fourth place

ews_fotostory4-0668

# Only Fabien Barel managed an even better comeback. After a serious back injury, he is back in the best of spirits and wins Finale Ligure

ews_fotostory3-9222

# Curtis Keene takes a wild line through the rock field on the men's downhill and crosses his Specialized Enduro

ews_fotostory3-9271

# Crowd puller Cedric Gracia couldn't really get into his rhythm and only finished in 57th place

ews_fotostory3-9540

# Max Schumann was lucky in his misfortune. On the last stage, in the penultimate corner, he tears off the rear derailleur.

ews_fotostory3-9548

# Stage three led the drivers through the most awkward corners and also through the backyards of some residents

ews_fotostory3-9710

# Daniel Jahn ends the first day of racing with pizza on the beach.

ews_fotostory3-9725

# After a hard first day, the darlings need some care.

ews_fotostory4-0804

# Old master Steve Peat takes a little trip into the world of enduro sport. For next year he is setting up his very own enduro team.

ews_fotostory4-0223

# Jerome Clementz shoots through the narrow forest of the NATO base..

ews_fotostory4-0319

# …and had a good laugh at the subsequent feed zone.

ews_fotostory4-0914

# Stage six looked pretty battered after nearly 300 riders.

ews_fotostory4-0412

# Damien Oton literally flew through the stone field and made it look like a breeze.

ews_fotostory4-1032

# 95 kilometers, more than 3000 meters in altitude - the bikes will probably stay in the corner for a few days.

ews_fotostory4-1019

# Pizza, pasta, ice cream – the main thing is something between your teeth.

ews_fotostory4-1076

# Anne Caroline Chausson set the fastest time on every stage. Still, she couldn't really be happy. She missed the overall win by 20 points

ews_fotostory4-1207

# Tracy Moseley celebrates her second Enduro World Series title

ews_fotostory4-1282

# Jared Graves , Damien Oton and Justin Leov toast a great season.

ews_fotostory4-1292

# The four winners of the 2014 Enduro World Series: Tracy Moseley, Jarded Graves, Adrien Dailly and Primoz Strancar

ews_fotostory4-1306

# The Next Generation of Enduro - Richie Rude alongside his teammate Graves

ews_fotostory4-1337

# An exciting second season is over...see you next year!
