Cycling: The Austrian extreme cyclist Christoph Strasser is aiming for the historic triple at the Race Across America next year. He would also like to be honored again as the best Styrian at the Night of Sports.
The Night of Sports takes place on October 30th and honors the most deserving athletes of 2014. A year ago, Strasser was tenth and thus the best Styrian. He would be happy about this result again this year. "Last year it was a great honor and recognition for me to get into the top ten of the most important athletes' choice in Austria with an extremely marginal sport. Maybe even more is possible this year after my third victory at the Race Across America”, according to Strasser.
The Seirer will start preparing for the season in the coming days. “The batteries are charged and now in October training for the next season starts again. This is followed by very relaxed training sessions to further build up the basic endurance. The diet is also changed again – fewer carbohydrates to improve fat metabolism.”
Good preparation is the basis for his big goal: In 2015 he wants to win the Race Across America for the third time in a row. “That's my big goal for 2015. It's also possible to improve the course record. But everything has to be right – from the form to the weather, the sleeping rhythm and a perfectly coordinated team. For me this is a unique opportunity to win the longest and toughest bike race in the world three times in a row.", concludes Strasser.
