Eurobike: Quarq presented its new Elsa RS power meter system today at Eurobike . The SRAM subsidiary is thus making its power meters compatible with Shimano and other groupsets.
The Quarq Elsa RS crankset features a 4-arm chainring mount compatible with Shimano's Dura-Ace 9000 and Ultegra 6800 chainrings. The spider houses the electronics, the CR2032 battery, and the LED indicator. It also features ANT+™ connectivity, making it compatible with compatible bike computers.
New features include temperature compensation and the measurement of force applied on both sides of the Elsa RS crankset . The same applies to the also new version of the crank for SRAM's XX1 groupset. Compensation is available in a range of -17 to 54 degrees Celsius.
The 616 gram light power crank costs 1.425 euros and is available now.
Using Quarq's Qalvin firmware, which is available for both Mac and Windows computers, the recordings can be evaluated after use.
