Eurobike: Quarq has its new watt measurement system at the Eurobike today Elsa R.S presented. The Sram subsidiary is thus also making its power meters accessible to Shimano and other groupsets.
The Quartz Elsa R.S-Crank comes with a 4-arm chainring mount compatible with Shimano's Dura-Ace 9000 and Ultegra 6800 rings. The spider houses the electronics as well as the CR2032 battery and the LED indicator. It also has ANT+™ and is therefore compatible with the corresponding bike computers.
What is new is the temperature compensation and the measurement of the force generated on both sides of the Elsa R.S. The same applies to the likewise new version of the crank for Srams XX1 group. Compensation takes place in a range from -17 to 54 degrees Celsius.
The 616 gram light power crank costs 1.425 euros and is available now.
Using Quarq's Qalvin firmware, which is available for both Mac and Windows computers, the recordings can be evaluated after use.
