Market: The Eurobike will open its doors in just under two weeks. The winners of the coveted Eurobike Awards have already been determined. A total of 56 products were awarded.
The expert jury, consisting of Pete Mijnssen (publisher and editor-in-chief Velojournal), Felix Böhlken (editor RoadBike), Claudia Maiwald (federal manager of the ecological traffic club VCD), Bernd-Uwe Gutknecht (ARD sports reporter), Markus Walcher (managing director Fahrrad XXL Walcher) and Nils Holger Moormann (designer) presented eleven Gold Awards and one Green Award for ecology and sustainability. All in all, 476 products from 30 nations were submitted.
“We had a super-competent jury that worked intensively for two days. The quality of the submitted products was extremely high and a diverse selection was made. Overall, in my opinion, the jury meeting for the Eurobike Awards went extremely well. We are now looking forward to the award ceremony and the winners' exhibition at the Eurobike.", explains Stefan Reisinger, Head of Eurobike at Messe Friedrichshafen.
The Eurobike Awards were organized for the first time in the history of the award ceremony with the German Designer Club. The cooperation seems to have gone well. In any case, Michael Eibes, Spokesman of the Board of Directors at the German Designer Club, was full of praise following the decision-making process: “You can tell that the subject of design has arrived in the bicycle industry. The triumvirate of form, function and materiality of the products is attracting more and more attention. The demands that the industry sets itself are high. [...] “The expert jury worked in a disciplined manner with a great deal of expertise and focused on the matter at hand. Several perspectives were always taken into account and discussed in order to do justice to the complexity of the individual submissions.”
The results of the Eurobike Awards will be presented to the specialist audience at the Eurobike from August 27th to 30th. All winners will be on display in a special show in Foyer West. The ceremony, during which the winners of the Gold Awards and the Green Awards will also be announced, will take place on the evening of the first day of the fair, August 27, at 18 p.m. in the East Foyer.
