cycling: Trek Factory Racing: Bus impounded

June 6, 2014 by the editorial office

E3 Harelbeke Cycle Race

The Trek Factory Racing Team led by Danny van Poppel, the overall leader of the Tour of Luxembourg, is facing a problem. As part of the tour of the Duchy, the Luxembourg police confiscated the team bus.

The bus driver had, according to the portal Luxemburger wort, made a dangerous maneuver on the Autobahn which prompted the police to stop him. During the check, it was then established that the bus was neither properly registered nor insured. The taxes for the bus are said not to have been paid properly. In addition, the obligatory technical inspection certificate was missing. The bus was confiscated by order of the public prosecutor.

The team will now have to make greater use of its racing service vehicles (photo above) for the tour.
