Things had gotten a bit quiet around Sigma Sport in recent years. The Neustadt-based company had some catching up to do, especially in the area of GPS-enabled computers. However, they are now trying this to the full extent with the Rox 10.0 GPS to saturate. In order to put the device through its paces, we carried out the test together with the Stuttgart team. You can find out how the device fared in this test report.

equipment and practice

At first glance the builds Rox 10.0 GPS a bit high compared to other Sigma Sport models. However, if you consider the range of functions of the device, then this view is quickly put into perspective.

In addition to the device itself, the scope of delivery also includes a holder as well as a cadence and speed sensor. There is also a chest strap for measuring the heart rate Rox 10.0 GPS at.

From home he is Rox 10.0 GPS 50 percent loaded, so that you can immediately start with the first settings. You are intuitively guided through the setup. The most important parameters are then shown on the large display. The large speed display is traditionally found in the middle of the Sigma. overFour current values are displayed: the heart rate at the top left, the altitude below it, the cadence at the top right and the incline below. The individual values can be displayed enlarged by pressing the Enter key.
In the lower part of the display you can use plus or minus to switch between ten functions defined by favorites A and B.

In addition, the Rox 10.0 GPS has a variety of functions that can be displayed. These range from the speed display to various heart rate and time functions to performance functions, a detailed temperature display and of course the navigation functions.

Sigma Sport solved the pairing of the sensors via ANT+ very well. The parameters on the device can be recognized more quickly than with comparable products from other manufacturers. Nothing stands in the way of training. Power meters can also be used with the Rox 10.0 combine well, although we in combination with the Garmin Vector needed a little knack for the correct calibration.

The buttons can be operated without gloves. If long-fingered gloves are used, a little more key pressure would be desirable. Apart from that, there have been no problems on the bike so far.

The evaluation of the trip via computer is carried out using the supplied software, which was a bit unwieldy at the beginning of the test, but now works well. The transfer is extremely fast and the files are easily exported in popular formats to feed platforms like Golden Cheata, Strave, etc. The Sigma Data Center does not give the same feedback as these, but it still offers enough filter options for everyday use.

Last week we received an invitation to the Bayern Rundfahrt. This year the race also leads over the Winkelmoos-Alm. We have now viewed the stage, also thanks to the Rox 10.0. The course of the stages could be loaded onto the device within three minutes. Another positive aspect of the display of planned routes is the possibility of displaying the elevation profile. This function is also interesting in terms of race design, since you always know how long you are still torment needs.

At the beginning of our test use, there were problems with the mount. During the Driedaagse van West-Vlaanderen we lost five devices on the pavement. However, Sigma Sport has now taken on this problem and has been offering a new bracket for a few weeks, which proves much more bite.

The factory setting is also helpful five-secondStorage interval, which is useful during training. Although the storage capacity may seem a bit irritating at first glance, it depends on the length of the selected interval. This can easily be changed from five to 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 30 seconds in the menu. Depending on the selected interval, there is then a different storage capacity, with the Rox 10.0 always shows the remaining time.

Conclusion

The housing of Rox 10.0 is robust and withstands adverse weather conditions. The battery allows recordings of up to four days of training before the device has to be recharged. All in all, the Sigma Sport Rox 10.0 a positive conclusion can thus be given. The GPS capability and the associated display of the route data is very convincing in the small functional miracle. These make the computer an all-rounder at the highest level.
