Marco Milivinti clinched the first big trophy of this year's enduro season at the weekend. At the first stop of the Italian Superenduro series, he lived up to his role as favorite and secured victory. From stage to stage he was able to gain a small lead of almost eight seconds, which at the end of the second day of racing should be enough to relegate his compatriot Alex Lupato to second place.
"I'm super happy. I didn't think I could win the last stage because it didn't suit my riding style at all. Riding on the same level as the big names in the scene is awesome. I will train even more for the next race”, said Milivinti after his victory.
The all-Italian podium was completed by Ducci Manuel. After Tobias and Markus Reiser from the Focus Trail Team finished the first day in the top 10, Tobias managed to improve to seventh place on Sunday and was thus the best German starter. His brother didn't have a good day and was passed way down the field.
Louise Pauline won the women's race with a solid performance followed by Valentina Macheda who improved from stage to stage. Alia Marcellini secured third place.
The next race of the Superenduro Pro Series will take place from 10.-11. May in Punta Ala.
