Rostock's André Greipel (Lotto Belisol) had to undergo an operation when he fell near Gent-Wevelgem a few kilometers before the finish line. After the fall, he was diagnosed with a dislocated collarbone and two torn ligaments.

Late on Sunday evening, Greipel underwent surgery on the ligaments between the shoulder and collarbone. A plate was also put in for him.

As announced today, Greipel will return to racing on April 27 as part of the Tour of Turkey.
