Dutchman Danny van Poppel (Trek Factory Racing) won stage two of the Driedaagse van West-Vlaanderen today to celebrate his first professional win. He prevailed in the sprint ahead of Danilo Napolitano (Wanty-Groupe Gobert) and Scott Thwaites (NetApp-Endura). The race was overshadowed by a serious crash that killed Gerald Ciolek (MTN-Qhubeka) and Max Walsleben, among others. Estonia's Gert Jœäär (Cofidis) continues to lead the overall standings.
