Starting this year, the Rose-Ultra Sports Team will no longer exist in the usual way. With new team riders and a fresh package of sponsors, you are venturing into previously unknown territory. “Leadership jerseys, German championship titles, winning the World Series, we have achieved things in the three years that nobody would have believed us capable of at the time. Now is the time to continue boldly into the future and take advantage of new opportunities.", says team founder Steffen Thum.
From this year the team will also be represented in the enduro discipline. For this reason, the Swiss Michael Schärer was brought into the team. The former Norco team rider is switching to a Rose bike and will be focusing on the Enduro World Series this year. “Michael is hungry for success and we will do everything we can to place him among the best in the world in the Enduro World Series. Steffen and Simon have shown that diligence, determination and a great team in the background make the top 20, top 10 and also the World Cup podium achievable", says team manager Kerstin Thum about the newcomer.
Another international newcomer is Frenchman Rémi Laffont. At the age of 22, he is supposed to compete alongside Thum in the Marathon World Series and by no means only act as a water carrier. “I will try to learn as much as possible from Steffen and Simon. They're both in the top three in the marathon and sprint World Cups, and that's where I want to be.", says the wiry newcomer to the team.
In addition to the two newcomers, there is also a new title sponsor. The French ski resort of Vaujany is actively helping the team. However, the Tübingen sports nutrition company Ultra Sports will continue to be the energy filling station for athletes and will continue to appear as a strong partner in the future, because all athletes will be named under the same flag "Rose Vaujany fueled by ultraSPORTS" contest the World Cup in the coming years.
