Chemnitz-based power meter manufacturer Power2Max is venturing into the WorldTour of professional road cyclists. From now on, the Saxon company will equip the Spanish Movistar team, including stars Alejandro Valverde and Nairo Quintana, as well as German rider Jasha Sütterlin, with the new Power2Max S-Type.
The S-Type features automatic zeroing and is also temperature-resistant. Thanks to its external battery compartment, it is also easy to maintain.
The exciting thing about this collaboration is that Power2Max is combining its power meters with cranks from the traditional Italian company Campagnolo for the first time. Such a combination was not previously available. According to our information, however, they are working on a solution that should also make passionate Campagnolo fans happy. When and if a corresponding version will come onto the market is not yet known.
The Spanish Movistar team will use the power meters in conjunction with 11-speed Super Record cranks. "Monitoring power output plays a crucial role in both training and racing ," says Eusebio Unzué, manager of Team Movistar. "Accurate data is absolutely essential. Power2Max is the perfect partner for this. The devices are extremely easy to use and guarantee detailed recording." Team Movistar will receive versions for both standard and compact cranks.
