The Accell Group, owner of the brands Batavus, Koga, Ghost, Haibike, Winora, Raleigh, Lapierre, XLC and other companies, has announced the sale of the Hercules brand to Zweirad-Einkaufs-Genossenschaft eG (ZEG). This should underline the positioning on the market.
In the past financial year, Herkules was able to record annual sales of 31 million euros. The company became Founded in 1886 and part of the Accell Group since 1995. “The sale of the Hercules brand enables us to further sharpen the focus of our German brands Winora, Haibike and Ghost against the background of the market. The sale of one of our traditional brands, which we have had in our portfolio for almost 20 years, was not easy.", says Rene Takens, Managing Director of the Accell Group, "but it was important and certainly groundbreaking." The ZEG says: "We are very pleased to be able to integrate this traditional and quality brand into our product family and thus strengthen the German bicycle trade. This rounds off our brand portfolio perfectly.” The cartel office still has to confirm the sale.
