cycling: Marcel Meisen: Steven's super prestige

Last weekend Aachener Marcel Meisen (Kwadro-Stannah) finished second at the German Championships in cyclocross behind his former teammate Philipp Walsleben (BKCP-Powerplus), making him the best elite rider to ride a Stevens.

The Hamburg company is equipping the Belgian professional team Kwadro-Stannah for the cyclocross season with their top model super prestige out of. This is not least for his known for its high rigidity and low weight. Meisen rides a 52 frame with a saddle height of 68,5 centimetres. What is striking about his bike is the tapered head tube of the carbon frame at the front, in which the carbon fork is mounted. The factory tax rate is on Ritchey WCS Logic Zero Drop In installed. While also the WCS Carbon 30.2 Stubby-seat post cap comes from Ritchey, the handlebar-stem combination comes from Hamburg. Here are Oxygen Scorpio-Assembled components measuring 42 centimeters (handlebar) and 110 millimeters (stem).

Meisen's bike is prepared for the use of an electronic groupset. For this reason, there is a rail on the down tube, which provides support for the battery. All other cables are laid in the frame. This applies to both the built-in Shimano Dura Ace 9070 Di2components as well as for the TRP brakes. It is exciting here that tits a Ultegra 6800- Crankset with a 46 to 39 tooth gear ratio, combined with a rear derailleur, a front derailleur and STI levers from the higher group of the Japanese. This is probably due to the fact that chainrings with a typical number of teeth for cyclocross are still rare.

A nice frame detail is the routing of the rear brake cable. This emerges from the center of the seat tube below the seat post cap and controls a white one RevoX Carbon from the house of TRP.

Unlike the Hamburg factory model, Meisens super prestige also installed wheels from the US manufacturer Cole. Meisen, who lives in Stolberg, uses the in big races T38CX back, characterized by a low weight of 1490 grams and the spokes that are straight in the hub flange. For the championship race he had the wheels with Dugast rhyno- Tubular tires related.

With this equipment, the bike weighs 7,6 kilograms.
