It's been almost five years since Fred Glo and Fabien Barel founded the brand urgent brought into being. With a very idiosyncratic design, no other brand has since polarized as much as that of the two French enduro specialists. After covering the MTB gravity area with the previous range, the aim is now also for the XC and marathon area - with the SupAcross.
The SupAcross is aimed primarily at all XC and marathon riders, so that part urgent the complete MTB segment can be supplied. This is also a break with the previous and proven design SupAcross not. The portholes typical of Urge are also used here. In addition to twelve other openings, these act as ventilation inlets and should always supply the head with fresh air.
Similar to enduro and downhill helmets, safety is clearly more important than weight, so that the helmet weighs 260 grams - so it is not a lightweight in the XC helmet classification. During development, the focus was on the small ones helper, which are intended to facilitate everyday practical use. As with previous models, am SupAcross by Gangsta pad used to catch sweat from the forehead. Furthermore, an easy-to-use rotary wheel is used to adjust the helmet size depending on the head circumference.
In addition, the production of the SupAcross an interesting topic. Since sustainability is an important factor, the helmet is made from recycled material. The impact-absorbing EPS inner shell of the Urge SupAcross consists of recycled material, as does the chin strap made from old PET bottles. A total of 90 percent of the materials used should consist of recycled raw materials.
