cycling: André Greipel fell badly in training

20 December 2013 by the editorial office

The reigning German champion André Greipel (Lotto-Belisol) fell heavily on Sunday during a training stay in Mallorca, as was only announced today. In the fall, the Rostocker suffered several abrasions on his face. "I have fifteen stitches in my mouth", said Greipel Het Nieuwsblad, who obviously hasn't lost his sense of humor. In light of the upcoming team presentation shoot, he noted: "I hope that [the photographers] be able to do wonders with Photoshop.”

The fall happened during a ride with the team. While his colleagues escaped unscathed, Greipel went down in a curve. “It might have been quite wet. I still have no injuries", the Rostocker concludes.
