cycling: 6-day race in Berlin: Franz Beckenbauer and Uwe Seeler give the starting signal

16 December 2013 by Veit Hammer

French Uwe

On January 23, 2014 it's that time again! Then the oldest and at the same time most important German 6-day race begins in the Berlin Velodrom. The two German football legends Franz Beckenbauer and Uwe Seeler will give the starting signal. Both are close friends of sponsor Axel Lange, Generali Versicherungen. For six days, the most traditional sporting event in Berlin will then be waiting for you with an attractive program of top-class sport and entertainment.

"Our Sixdays have been promising top sport, a great atmosphere and a good mood for years"

“We are very happy about the acceptance of Franz Beckenbauer and Uwe Seeler. Our long-term partner Axel Lange was able to get his two friends from the active soccer days to officially kick off. Our Sixdays have been promising top sport, a great atmosphere and a good mood for years, and in January we will again be relying on this promising mix.", says Reiner Schnorfeil, Managing Director of the Berliner-6-Tag-Rennen GmbH. "Thanks to the active commitment of our sponsors and business partners, which usually goes far beyond the financial support, we are able to organize this fantastic sporting event year after year."

The sporting top stars include the current Madison world champions Morgan Kneisky and Vivien Brisse from France, the German top sprinters Robert Förstemann, Rene Enders and Maximilian Levy as well as crowd favorite and stayer champion Florian Fernow from Berlin.
