Italian WorldTour team Lampre-Merida fell victim to a burglary last weekend. The team announced this today. According to reports, the team's service course in Usmate Velate has been plagued by thieves. All the wheels and components in the warehouse were stolen. Some of the wheels and frames were already prepared for the coming year, so they have the 2014 team design and should therefore be easy to identify.
The Lampre-Merida team published a detailed list of all the stolen items on its website. This includes:
- Merida Warp, team color, including wheels and Shimano components
- Merida Reacto Evo, team color, including wheels and Shimano components
- Merida Ride, team color, including wheels and Shimano components
- Merida Scultura, team color, including wheels and Shimano components
- Merida frame ready for assembly
- Shimano Dura Ace 9070 Di2 groupsets
- Fulcrum carbon wheelsets (TT disc, 80 millimeters, 50 millimeters, 35 millimeters e light, 25 millimeters), team color

- SRM power meter, season 2013
- Rotor power meter incl. Garmin, season 2014

This is a serious setback for the Lampre-Merida team in preparation for the coming season. In addition to the logistical problems when procuring new materials, the drivers now also have to wait longer for their work equipment. However, the local police are already investigating the case.
