cycling: Chris Horner leaves hospital

18 April 2014 by the editorial office

The American Chris Horner has left the hospital in Lecco. This was announced by his team Lampre-Merida. The 2013 Vuelta winner sustained injuries to his ribs, lungs and head in a training accident last week. [Link]

Horner is currently at his home in Como with his family. "I'm glad to be coming home. It was a bad experience, but I also think I was lucky: the crash could have been a lot worse.”

The American's first goal of the season, the Giro d'Italia, is a long way off due to the fall. He may be back in the peloton for the Tour de France though.
