He even became German champion in the time trial a whopping ten times. He won five stages of the Tour de France and even wore the yellow jersey in 2015. In 2012 he was Olympic silver medalist in the time trial. He can also call himself a tour winner. In his career he won the ENECO Tour, Paris – Nice and the Tour of Beijing, among others. During his career he wore the jerseys of the teams HTC - Columbia, Etixx - Quick-Step, Katusha - Alpecin and Jumbo - Visma.
