Cycling: Up to Alpe d'Huez - at least virtually. The third race of the GCA league took the participants up the Alpe d'Zwift climb. With Jason Osborne and Romy Kasper, the spectators were presented with two sovereign winners.
GCA League: Up to Alpe d'Zwift
Today, numerous road cyclists in Germany rode the legendary ascent to Alpe d'Huez in their living room. The climbers were in demand today on the third stage of the GCA league. The spectators were able to experience two sovereign winners in both the women's and men's categories. Whereas in the previous stages there was usually a mass sprint, today the drivers mostly fought their way across the finish line individually.
Osborne & Kasper win confidently
In the men's race, Jason Osborne was able to break away from his companions after around 15 kilometers. The 26-year-old from Mainz is actually a full-time rower. The fact that his endurance training on the bike also pays off in the GCA league was impressive today – as was the case at the German time trial championships on the road. He won the mountain finish just as confidently as Romy Kasper did with the women. The 31-year-old – whose birthday is in three days – again proved to be the strongest woman in the field in today's edition of the GCA league.
As usual, a highlight video of the races will be available shortly on the YouTube channel e-Cycling TV Germany be accessed.
