Spectrum: The Ampler Challenge is a superlative test drive. The program includes a bike tour of up to 1000 kilometers in length on a self-selected route. More than 3710 applications were received for the Ampler Challenge 2019, four participants who were equipped with an Ampler e-bike for their big adventure were able to prevail.
Behind the dream routes there are people and stories - sometimes also tragic fates, as with Andrew from Great Britain. In 2011, the mental health care advisor suffered a devastating personal loss. His Ampler Challenge takes him from Morpeth to the Isle of Iona and back in July. 965 kilometers, which he dedicates to his deceased wife. The Scottish island was the destination of the honeymoon in 1997 as well as one of the last destinations together.
The former Paralympic competitive athlete Thomas will drive about 700 kilometers from Schmalkalden to Hiddensee in August. With the six-day bike tour, the cross-country skier and biathlete wants to show that everyone should not only believe in themselves and accept challenges, but also can. The participants in the 2019 Ampler Challenge also include Rebecca and Ian, who are making their way from Palermo to Pompei in August. Ian has developed a healthy lifestyle over the past two years and has already lost 50 kilograms, with another 10 kilograms to follow. His fiancee Rebecca accompanies Ian every step of the way, including the tour along the west coast of Italy.
Ampler Bikes Challenge for everyone
To encourage more people to get on their bikes, there is also an Ampler Bikes Challenge for those who cannot attend the official Ampler Challenge 2019. In July, all cycling enthusiasts are therefore asked to cycle 500 to 1000 kilometers. Anyone who pedals at least 500 kilometers, records this with the Edmondo app and registers it on the Ampler Challenge website will receive a small gift and a portion of extra motivation from Ampler.
