Test: The Pegasus Premio Superlite, with its sporty, light design and rigid fork, is aimed less at lovers of comfort than at sporty drivers or urban commuters. The Cologne-based brand is making cutbacks and is presenting a brisk trekking bike for just under 900 euros that we like – even if you take a closer look. First of all, however, it must be said that compromises are necessary somewhere, and in the case of the Premio Superlite, this applies to the gears, for example, which have to make do with nine instead of ten or eleven sprockets. On the other hand, one discovers cables and lines completely hidden in the down tube, a nice transition from fork and frame as well as a successful, elegant attachment of the extremely bright 60 lux radiator.
In general, the fork: Like some other models in the test, it is rigid, which of course costs a little more comfort, but is not bad at all, especially in the lower price ranges - the alternative would be a very simply sprung fork. In addition, the rigid fork suits a rather sporty sitting position on the Pegasus and has a positive effect on the weight.
The steering behavior of the Pegasus Premio Superlite is not very sporty, tending towards sluggish; In addition, smooth running and driving stability at high speeds are not very pronounced - two factors that spoil the joy of the Pegasus, but are also more noticeable in direct comparison with the other test bikes. The mood improves again when looking at the solid luggage rack with tension belt, which is firmly attached to the fender; the Hebie side stand is elegantly mounted on the chainstay. The front fender is also long enough.
