Test: Technibike is the youngest member of Techniropa Holding GmbH. With company headquarters in Daun (Rhineland-Palatinate), Technibike has been committed to the development and production of high-performance pedelecs since it was founded in 2016. The Technibike Trekking Edition we tested is equipped, among other things, with the brand new 48 V Continental motor and promises plenty of power. In addition, with the fully integrated 600 Wh battery, the tour of discovery can safely be a little longer.
Technibike Trekking Edition: Frame / Geometry
As with all other Technibike models, the motor and battery of the Trekking Edition are fully integrated into the frame. In addition to the diamond frame we tested, a step-through frame is also available. Cables for the rear brake and gears disappear above the battery inside the frame and reappear below the motor. A solution that is both visually appealing and practical. Of course, a trekking bike should not be without eyelets for luggage racks and side stands. The geometry of the Technibike Trekking is comfortable and sporty at the same time, you immediately feel comfortable and want to start straight away. The frames are available in sizes S to L.

motor / battery
Technibike installs a Continental 48 V motor with an output of 70 Nm and a 600 Wh battery on its bikes, which guarantees a long range. This allows you to score exactly where it matters with a trekking bike. Continental developed the control element for the drive together with Ergon. The buttons are very comfortable and easy to reach with the thumb. By pressing + and - the unit rotates slightly and changes the support levels. The display is large and easy to read while driving. Speed, support levels, battery charge status, daily kilometers and total kilometers can be displayed at a glance. The motor with its 70 Nm offers decent power and is also very quiet.

Technibikes offers its bikes in only one equipment variant. At the top of the priority list is the price/performance ratio - this also applies to trekking bikes. At Technibike you can get an e-bike with very good and well thought-out equipment for 3.499 euros. It is shifted with a Shimano XT Deore complete group. With the Magura MT4 brake, the trekking bike can also be stopped at higher speeds. Ergon Premium GC1 grips and the Ergon SFC3 Evo Gel saddle ensure that your buttocks and hands feel comfortable even during longer rides. The RockShox Paragon suspension fork with 65 mm travel can be adjusted to the weight of the rider via air and impresses with its very good comfort. The aluminum mudguards from Curana also protect against moisture in rainy weather. Thanks to the floating chain guard, there is no need to roll up your pants in bad weather.
With its special construction, the Ergotec Hook seat post offers significantly more comfort and flexes with bumps. A lighting system from Busch + Müller can be found at the front and rear, which also conveys safety on the road at night. Speaking of security: a frame lock from Abs is included in the equipment. As befits a trekking bike, a Racktime pannier rack and an Ursus side stand are already fitted.
The Technibike Trekking Edition on the road
With the trekking bike, Technibike focuses on functionality, sportiness and comfort. The equipment leaves almost nothing to be desired. The suspension fork can be perfectly adjusted to the driver's weight via air and offers plenty of comfort. A so-called lockout is also available on the fork. The Magura MT4 brakes were also convincing during the test. The Shimano Deore XT 10-speed shifting group offers enough gear range to master even steep climbs. In addition, the Deore XT switches very reliably and requires very little maintenance. The floating chainstay protection rattled a bit on gravel roads, but its functionality was convincing. Racktime's luggage rack made a stable impression and easily withstands heavier luggage bags.
The 70 Nm strong Continental motor also convinced us. The change between the four support levels is hardly noticeable. The volume of the motor is also very low and comparable to a Brose motor. Longer distances can also be covered with the 600 Wh battery. This should please commuters and touring riders. The display looks very large, but is very easy to read while driving. The control element, which was developed together with Ergon, was also very convincing. All buttons could be easily and comfortably reached with the thumb. The frame of the Technibike Trekking seemed very stiff, even with quick changes of direction I could not feel any strong twisting of the frame. The changes of direction could also be driven very quickly. The Technibike in the Trekking Edition always felt agile.
