Thanks to a new design, the new Wahoo Kicker is almost silent and, thanks to the performance-optimized flywheel, offers an even better and more realistic driving experience, even in your own four walls. Furthermore, with the Headwind, the Kickr Climb and Kickr Core, Wahoo brings further innovations that make indoor training more pleasant and real.
The biggest innovation on the new Wahoo Kickr for 2018 is the new design, which makes both the volume and the pitch of the indoor trainer almost silent. Another update is the larger performance-tuned flywheel, which provides real-time data through improved responsiveness and precise power measurements (up to 2.200 watts). We already had a model for a test drive before the launch of the new Wahoo Kickr and were able to see the innovations for ourselves.
The larger flywheel gives you a driving experience that you are only used to from the street, because on conventional roller trainers with brakes or smaller flywheels, the pedaling becomes extremely uneven, which is completely eliminated thanks to this innovation. The optimization in terms of noise is really impressive, because the Wahoo Kicker makes almost no sound. The only noise you hear while driving is the chain running over the sprockets. A welcome option, especially for early or late trainers, so as not to upset the roommates, neighborhood or family.
Wahoo Kickr Core
The Wahoo Wahoo Kickr Core also features proven flywheel technology to provide accuracy and real feel. The Kickr Core offers the well-known high-quality features in a compact design with accurate power measurement and compatibility with a wide range of bikes and training platforms.
Wahoo Kickr Headwind
The Wahoo Kickr Headwind System is an innovative new product that further immerses the cyclist in a simulation. Complementing all Kickr Smart trainers is the new Wahoo Kickr Headwind Smart Fan, the first smart fan purpose-built for the needs of indoor cyclists. By connecting heart rate monitors, smart trainers or speed sensors, it automatically delivers a powerful and realistic headwind (up to 30 mph), simulating the airflow a cyclist feels when riding on the road.
Wahoo Kickr Climb
For the ultimate indoor driving experience, Wahoo offers the Kickr Climb System, a way of simulating inclines and declines, which are not only simulated by more or less resistance on the roller trainer, but now also by changing the height of the front axle.
The Wahoo Kickr Climb simulates up to 20 percent incline and 10 percent decline. To do this, the racing bike is attached to the fork in the Kickr Climb with the front wheel removed. Quick release, 12 and 15 mm thru axles are compatible.
