Pro belongs to the largest component manufacturer, Shimano. It was to be expected that the Japanese would splash out and also include a telescopic support in their range. The support relies on well-known features and details of the well-known products of the Koryak product line.

PRO Koryak: Assembly
The Koryak is pretty standard when it comes to assembly, in the best sense of the word. Shift case and a train that is hooked into the lever. A barrel is clamped with a grub screw at the lower end of the support. However, not every support has the protective cap that the Pro support can offer. According to Pro Product Management, you don't have to use them, but with frames that are open at the bottom or if you clean a lot or ride in adverse weather conditions, it makes sense to cover the mechanism at the bottom of the support.
PRO Koryak: processing
The workmanship isn't particularly good, but we couldn't identify any major weaknesses either. Overall, it is solid, with optical unique selling points. The execution of the parts, such as the lever, cable + sleeve and the protective cap are good. The quality of the coatings appears free from defects.
PRO Koryak: function
The saddle clamp with only one screw is easy to use. The PRO has no setback, so the saddle is clamped directly over the middle of the post. This is particularly good on bikes with a slack seat angle. While the lever isn't one of our favorites, it should satisfy most riders. The rebound speed is not too fast and is absolutely suitable for us. It is pleasing that there are different clamping heads for different saddle frames. The system is known from the non-height-adjustable Pro supports. The control lever doesn't receive excessive praise for its ergonomics, but it works flawlessly. There is also a variant for Shimano I-Spec.
With a slightly larger adjustment range and a slightly modified lever, we would have been even more convinced of the PRO Koryak. Operating forces are low, everything works well. Overall, only small things reduce the performance of the convincing base.
