The cradle of the Munich Cycle Club is – as the name suggests – in Munich. To be more precise, in the exclusive ERTL/RENZ store on Brienner Strasse in the Bavarian capital. The former professional triathlete Sven Renz founded the shop in 2011 together with his wife Martina Ertl: At first the offer was limited to exclusive equipment and clothing for runners, before a ski area was installed shortly afterwards, which, thanks to the expertise of Martina Ertl has meanwhile become one of the contact points for lovers of high-quality ski equipment throughout Germany.
Sven Renz's decades-long passion for cycling has also led to a generous offer for cyclists in addition to the running and skiing area. This is not just limited to high-quality clothing, for example from Cipollini, De Marchi or Assos, but in the ERTL/RENZ store cycling enthusiasts can also examine and purchase high-end bikes from Lightweight, No.22 and Cannondale. Expert advice and espresso from our own roasting included.
The high-quality range of the shop and the passion of co-owner Sven Renz form the framework for the Munich Cycle Club, which was launched at the beginning of this year. Cycling enthusiasts gather here, whose heart beats for the most beautiful sport in the world, who like to exchange ideas with each other, who appreciate beautiful equipment and feel at home in the exclusivity of such a club. Members not only get club cycle wear specially made by DeMarchi, they also get special conditions in the store and can enjoy individual training support and informative specialist lectures. Together with partner pro style members also have the opportunity to get hold of coveted places on the cycle tours organized by the cycle tour operator.
Every Thursday, the Munich Cycle Club also organizes a relaxed trip around the metropolis in the Free State, which is open to all interested parties. It always starts at the store – you can find more detailed information on this weekly Facebook. There are also smaller workshops in the shop from time to time, such as next Friday, May 20th, when there will be a screwdriver workshop in a relaxed atmosphere that revolves around the topics of gearshifts and drives.
Luigi is also a permanent member of the Munich Cycle Club, and one or two cyclists in the region may already know him: With his mobile coffee machine, he is always on popular cycle routes in the Munich area and provides passing drivers with free espresso from his own roasting.
The Munich Cycle Club is looking forward to keeping you up to date here in its own blog!
