Shimano, already known for first-class bicycle components and accessories, also introduced its first action cam some time ago: The Shimano CM-1000.
The design of the camera is black and minimalist - the small form factor and streamlined shape (compared to the competition) make the camera perfect for helmet or saddle mounting. There are two buttons on the top that can be used to control the camera. However, operation is particularly convenient via the free app for iOS and Android. This not only offers a nice and clear menu, but also the live image of the camera. The latter works excellently and almost without lag.
In contrast to its probably biggest competitor, the GoPro, the Shimano CM-1000 does not need an extra protective cover but is already waterproof up to 10m. If you are thinking about switching to the Shimano Cam and are now worried about the accessories - no problem, because thanks to the plastic shoe supplied, the Shimano CM-1000 is compatible with most mounts for the GoPro.
As usual from other manufacturers, the camera delivers videos in full HD with up to 30 frames per second, or even 240 frames per second for slow-motion recordings in a lower resolution. The cam takes photos with a resolution of 6 megapixels. The results are sharp and crisp in both cases.
It is particularly practical that you can actually use the camera "out of the box". In addition to the included 16GB micro SD card and other items, the scope of delivery also includes a Shimano helmet mount.
More information about the camera can be found in our Article.
Together with Shimano we are giving away a CM-1000 Action Cam.
