Hello dear Merkur Cycling fans.
And again there are reports from the south. It snowed last week – snowed a lot.
Since our teammate Bernd, the experienced veteran from beautiful Greiz, was in Munich for professional reasons, we took the opportunity and threw our boards in the car on Wednesday evening. Instead of going to the gym, we headed for Sölln. In the middle of the "Wilder Kaiser" region, floodlit boarding is offered there during the week.
So we were able to board for 2,5 hours despite the early sunset and we agreed: "That was the right decision".
We also used Bernd's visit to cook together, of course wholesome and with lots of fresh food. Of course, we also talked about the coming season, the preparations and our teammates. I love these conversations, because they always make you want to go racing and be on the road with the Merkur boys again!
We are very excited about the first competitions and are already looking forward to exciting races with and against the other teams. Of course, we hope that you too will all get through the winter healthy and sporty.
We then used the weekend again to escape the spinning bike. In the Bavarian Forest we went skating and cross-country skiing. The training was strenuous and effective. Especially after four years without standing on skis, I can now feel all those muscles that aren't used that much when cycling. All the fresh winter air was definitely good for us and compensated for a long working week.
Let's see where it takes us next weekend...
Best regards from the winter wonderland,
Frederick.
