Cycling: Contrary to all expectations, Andre Greipel, who had the most World Tour victories this year, will not start the new season at the Tour Down Under. The Lotto-Belisol driver will contest his first race on Mallorca.
Andre Greipel will not start the new season in Australia as expected. Greipel announced that he will skip the Tour Down Under and start the season a little later with the Mallorca Challenge. “Together with the team, I decided that we would change my racing program a bit and that I would start the season later. It was a bit difficult for me, mainly because I was always able to get good results in Australia. My focus is changing a bit though and I hope to head into spring with a lot of momentum.”
Greipel is currently in Benicassim with the team for the annual December training camp. Here he primarily works on his stamina and athleticism.
