Punta Ala is one of the most popular enduro locations in Europe, so it is not surprising that not only the European Enduro Series, but also the Superenduro Pro Series made a stop in beautiful Tuscany. Last weekend, the Italian enduro elite once again had to collect valuable points in the overall ranking. As the winner of the first lap, Marco Milivinti started the race as a big favourite. With a distance of almost 80 kilometers spread over two days of racing, it shouldn't be an easy task to do justice to this role.
However, Milivinti kept his nerve. The fast Italian won the first day unchallenged and started the second day of racing with a comfortable lead of eleven seconds. His closest competitor, Manuel Ducci, who was second after the first day, tried to close the gap with a consistent performance. With a stage win and a mixed day from Milivinti, he was able to catch up but ended the weekend with a ten second lead that would help Milivinti to their second Superenduro Pro Series win. Meanwhile, Manuel Ducci secured second place followed by Nicola Casadei.
Similar to Sestri Levante, Louise Paulin dominated the women's race. She won every single stage and by the end of the first day she already had a considerable lead over her competitors. The native Swede continued her successful streak on the second day and thus also secured her second victory.
Paulin and Milivinti have thus established a comfortable lead and will be the big favorites going into the next round of the Superenduro Pro Series, which will take place on Milivinti's home tracks in the Italian Alps around Madesimo.
