So far the preparation for the new season has been extremely turbulent for me. I spent the whole fall building up my own business, which goes by the name Kirchmair coaching has existed since last year. Since this year, in addition to my work as a trainer, I have also been working for the traditional French company Mavic, where I am responsible for community management in Central Europe. Mavic also offered me the opportunity to form a small team.
That's how it came about Kirchmair Cycling Team, whose drivers are supervised by me and should be introduced to the Alpine marathons. In addition, I offer interested cyclists the opportunity to me and the team as a Friends to support. I want to offer my riders and friends the best possible environment so that they can fully concentrate on their goals in the difficult alpine marathons.
After completing the most important preparations for 2014, I spent four weeks in Gran Canaria to prepare for the season. After that, unfortunately, due to cramps, training was out of the question for almost four weeks. The reason for this may have been a viral disease and a mineral deficiency caused by it. Added to this was the withdrawal of the previous main sponsor, the Höpperger company, which I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank for the great support one man team thank you for the past season. Without the support from Höpperger it would certainly not have been possible for me to concentrate fully on the marathons and thus stay in cycling.
After another setback and the serious diagnosis of a vertebral fracture, my sporting expectations in the first half of the season are on the back burner for the time being. Instead, I would like to prepare specifically for the toughest marathons at the end of the season and attack again at the Ötztaler. There is still a lot of time until then, which I need to relax and for my chosen career path.
A first station on this path was the first meeting of the still young Kirchmair Cycling Team last weekend. A joint training camp in Mallorca is now planned for the drivers before the first big highlight, the Achensee Marathon on May 4th, is marked on the calendar. Just in time for the start of the season, my newly designed website and a corresponding Facebook presence are launched. Please visit me here too.
