Last Friday the time had finally come, the long-awaited team presentation was coming up. For us drivers it's always something like Christmas and Easter on one day!
A lot has happened over the winter: GREEN'N FIT as the new main sponsor, many other new partners and some new faces in the team. The colors of the new sponsor are green and black, so it was already clear in advance that we would start with a completely new look next season. The excitement for the new jerseys and the rest of the outfit was all the greater.
The presentation took place this year in the BMW-Walkenhorst car dealership, also a new partner of the team, in Gütersloh. The riders met on site in the morning in the best cycling weather. Since we have the new BMC teammachines and the new DT Swiss wheels in advance and so everyone had already covered a few kilometers on the new work equipment, people were already talking shop on arrival and raving about the bike. The location was firmly in black and green hands and a Mini Cooper in the team design was already parked in the reception area.
After a short chat with many old and some new faces, we were greeted by team manager Ole Ternes and set the mood for the day and the coming season. After that it was already time: Christmas presents!
Each driver got his individual team package. After we really couldn't complain last year, the team presented us with a bit more this year. Everything was there: jerseys, pants, jackets, waistcoats, helmets, goggles, shoes and much more. The jerseys come from Storck Cycling Gear this year and immediately knew how to convince! When it comes to helmets and goggles, we will once again be equipped by Uvex this year. After everyone had found the right size for the new Northwave shoes after a short time, one was free to choose slender foot nothing in the way.
When everyone was nicely made up and equipped, various photo appointments were scheduled. Both individual shots and the official team photo 2014 had to be in the box. The local press was also there and so some of us were able to provide information on personal goals and ambitions.
After that, we urgently needed to use the excellent weather for a short, easy ride. Accompanied by the new team mini we set out to present the new colors! 24 riders in green and black was quite an impressive picture! The exit was also used for some pictures.
At the end of the all-round successful day, we went out to eat together with the team. Some have already left for the training camp on the same day, most of the other drivers will be in Mallorca at the end of March to train together. Everything will soon be GREEN'N FIT there too. After that, nothing stands in the way of the season opener at Rund um Köln on Easter Monday!
