France's Nacer Bouhanni (FdJ.fr) secured the start of the Crtérium International. After 89 kilometers around the Corsican port of Port Vecchio, last year's Tour de France kick-off, he won the field sprint, clearly ahead of Nathan Haas (Garmin-Sharp) and Marko Kump (Tinkoff-Saxo).
The race had picked up speed just under thirty kilometers from the finish line when the field split into two groups and Andy Schleck (Trek), among others, missed the jump into the first group. However, it only took five kilometers until the peloton was together again.
In the afternoon, like every year, a short time trial was held in Porto Vecchio. This was secured by the Dutchman Tom Dumoulin (Giant-Shimano), who is the overall leader for tomorrow's final stage of the two-day race.
