The eagerly awaited route of the eleventh edition of the legendary Absa Cape Epic 2014 was published a few days ago and is proving to be challenging as usual. The eight-day marathon team race takes place from 23.-30. March 2014 and takes teams of two over a 718 kilometer route from Meerendal Wine Estate in Durbanville to Lourensford Wine Estate in Somerset West. In the African heat, more than 14.000 meters of altitude difference have to be conquered.
As in previous years, the big favorites will be drivers such as Christoph Sauser and Jaroslav Kulhavy (Specialized), Marco Fontana and the German champion Manuel Fumic (Cannondale Factory Racing) as well as José Hermida (Multivan-Merida). The interesting two-team constellation ensures exciting fights every year.
At least the route is in no way inferior to that of previous years and will push the drivers to their limits - so we can look forward to the coming year with excitement and look forward to an exciting marathon race.
