Stage seven of the Crocodile Trophy brought a pleasant change of pace for the riders. In the small town of Laura in northern Queensland, a 38-kilometer time trial awaited the participants today. Under the most difficult conditions, Mark Frendo was able to extend his lead in the overall standings. Frendo crossed the finish line 24 seconds ahead of Austria's Benetseder. Canadian marathon champion Cory Wallace completed today's podium.
Liesbeth Hessens also dominated the women's race on the seventh day. At such a short distance she runs with a lead of 14:39 minutes and has extended her lead to 7:43:24 hours. Maria Christina Prati and Giordana Sordi completed the podium ahead of Denmark's Mortensen.
