Product news: Santa Cruz introduces the latest generation of its Blur cross-country and trail bike. Built to push the boundaries of traditional XC bikes, this brand-new highlight from the Californian brand is aimed at both racers and ambitious trail riders. The bike is therefore offered in two versions: "Standard" and "Race".
The new Blur features 120 mm of travel front and rear. The manufacturer utilizes its proven Superlight system (single-pivot with flex stays), but the leverage ratio has been made significantly more progressive. This is intended to ensure that the bike sits higher in its travel while pedaling, reduces bobbing, and offers improved responsiveness and more support on descents. Furthermore, the geometry has been modernized and designed for an aggressive riding style. A slacker 66° head angle is combined with a steeper 75° seat angle. The reach has been significantly increased, and in conjunction with the shorter stems (50 mm for the standard kits, 60 mm for the race kits), the rider is positioned lower on the bike.
The Blur is available in all build options exclusively as the CC version – the manufacturer's lightest carbon grade. Furthermore, every frame offers the option of mechanical cable routing. The new Santa Cruz model is offered in two main versions. The standard kits combine a riser handlebar, a 50mm stem, Fox suspension, and Maxxis Aspen AT tires, while the race kits feature a 60mm stem, a flat bar, remote lockouts, and Maxxis Rekon Race tires. Other practical details of the frame include space for two large water bottles, an integrated glove box in the downtube with convenient pockets, and an additional tool mount under the top tube.
Santa Cruz Blur: Frame sizes, weight and prices
The new Santa Cruz Blur covers a total of seven different equipment variants and, depending on the equipment variant (from Deore to XX FA Race), ranges in price from 4.999 Prices range from €12.499. Depending on the equipment, the total weight starts from 11,2 kg.
